About Lyn

Hi - my name is Lyn Toomey and I've built an entire business around helping folks with their businesses.

I once was part of the corporate marketing world, had fun climbing the corporate ladder, and became a Corporate Marketing Director. I worked as a corporate employee for more than 20 years. Towards the end of my tenure, I experienced several mergers followed by several layoffs during the dot com fiasco. Discouraged and disgusted with corporate loyalty, I discovered the new and growing world of “Virtual Assistants” and decided that I would create my own luck and hang out my shingle.

I’ve been a VA now for 5 years. Because my employee background has been 100% marketing, I tend to stay in demand for marketing projects. I do take on other types of assignments when time allows, but seem to always come back to marketing.

I started out handling anything that came my way, including bookkeeping, but eventually was attracted back into marketing projects as a VA.

As time went by I sensed that my business lacked a certain focus. As a marketer I love working with “target markets’ – a specific group of people with similar characteristics. Target markets are fun because you don’t need to market to the entire world – just those in your particular target group. This is not only fun, but highly interesting too.

In my search for a fun and stimulating target market I discovered the professional program that AuthorSmart.com has developed for Virtual Assistants just like me. Now I’ve been certified to assist authors in their publishing journey by coordinating and managing their publishing process.

As your Virtual Assistant partner, I’ll first consult with you, setting clear goals and boundaries. Together we’ll evaluate which tasks I should handle, which pieces you will handle, then I "project manage" for you, making sure that all timelines are kept to - even your own. In the simplest form, I help you get it all done.

Despite my 27 years of experience in the marketing field, I do handle all aspects of the publishing process - manuscript creation, self-publishing, and yes, even the marketing pieces. Especially the marketing pieces!
